Julia Carr, Ovid Radbauer and Yasmine Dalloul met while studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. After receiving advice from their mentors to “create your own work”, they realised they all had a story to tell. They became close friends and their shared ambition and desire to tell stories that would resonate with a wider international audience sparked the conversation that would become Le Chéile Productions. They came together from different parts of the world and each brings a unique perspective and cultural voice to the creative process. Blending their backgrounds in acting, writing, and production to craft bold, emotionally driven stories with global relevance. United by a passion for honest storytelling and a commitment to collaboration, Le Chéile was born from friendship, fuelled by vision, and driven by the belief that the most powerful stories are the ones we tell together. “Le Chéile” is the Irish word for “Together”.
Julia Carr is an Irish Actor, Writer, Director, and Producer working between New York City and Dublin. Raised in the heart of Dublin, her artistic voice is deeply shaped by Ireland’s storytelling tradition, cultural richness, and emotional honesty. Though rooted in Irish soil, Julia’s early years were shaped by experiences abroad, spending formative time between the vibrant coasts of America and the cobbled streets of Europe.
Before moving to New York to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, her education spans across, France, Spain and Ireland, giving her not only linguistic fluency, but also a global lens through which to view human experience. Fuelled by a deep love for Irish language, history and the resilience of its people, Julia is passionate about creating work that bridges borders. Her mission is to tell stories—both at home and abroad—that celebrate Ireland’s distinctive voice while embracing the shared complexities of life across cultures.
